Early on in the year, Cuppers is a great chance to test out your fitness on the South Park hills.
The race usually takes place on the third weekend of Michaelmas Term. Depending on the weather, shoes with spikes may come in handy running on South Park grass. All current and past University members are welcome to race free of charge. The course takes you on a number of loops of the park (up and around the top with a view of the spires).
The race also functions as one of the two selection races for Varsity Cross Country at the end of Michaelmas. As well as an individual competition there are also prizes for colleges, with no upper limit to team sizes. Every runner counts!
More information and sign-up to be found a week or two in advance in the club weekly email, on the website or on the Facebook event.
Injured or not racing? Come along anyway to socialise, spectate and meet the club.
South Park can be found south of the city center, about a ten minute walk from Magdalen Bridge, straight along St. Clement's. Individuals gather in the middle of the park in preparation for the race.
